Connecting organisations around the world committed to workplace mental health

To address the urgent need for mental health to be prioritised in workplaces around the world, The Global Business Collaboration for Better Workplace Mental Health was created in 2021. Led by international partners Deloitte, HSBC, Unilever, Clifford Chance, BHP, WPP, BP, Sodexo and Visa, this collaboration was created to connect organisations of all sizes with a shared vision of better workplace mental health.

The 100Vision team consulted on the communications strategy from its inception, to help raise the profile of the collaboration and encourage businesses and leaders to sign the collaboration’s pledge to come together and commit to making workplace mental health a priority. The 100Vision team managed the global media plan and outreach, for launch, working closely with the secretariat of United for Global Mental Health and later went on to manage the digital communications channels.

In July 2022, the GBC announced a new partnership with MindForward Alliance, with the communications strategy developed by the 100 Vision team. This partnership is building on the Collaboration’s success and growing their community of business leaders around the world. MindForward Alliance is the leading global not-for-profit organisation transforming workplace culture into one that supports the mental health of its employees. For over a decade, its community of businesses has been leading the way in creating transformational change in workplace mental health.

100Vision led on securing media opportunities for the launch on and around World Mental Health Day 2021, which had a reach of over 180 million. This included an interview on BBC Business Report on BBC World TV/BBC One with Ian Stewart and an article in Forbes. A video and written feature with Sir Ian Chesire in Arabian Times discussing the value of investing in mental health. As well as an opinion piece by Sir Ian Chesire in Africa Business on employers prioritising mental health as part of their covid-19 response. These interviews were also promoted across the media’s social media channels, which had an estimated reach of 487,000. 100Vision also secured interviews on BBC Radio 5, Wake Up to Money and on Sky’s Ian King show with the organisation Chair at the time, Sir Ian Chesire.

After the launch of The Global Business Collaboration for Better Workplace Mental Health, 100Vision became part of the team, managing the digital communication channels and leading on the content strategy. As part of this work, the team managed the promotion of the ‘Pledge With Us’ webinar series and developed mini campaigns, such as the World Mental Health Day campaign focused on driving pledge sign-ups. This campaign in the lead up to World Mental Health Day 2021, led to a peak in traffic to the website and caused a spike in pledge sign-ups.

In 2022, The Global Business Collaboration for Better Workplace Mental Health entered a new phase, with the secretariat role handed from United for Global Mental Health to Mind Forward Alliance. 100Vision led on the communications strategy for the next phase of the collaboration, detailing how this partnership provided an opportunity to refine the offer to signatories and build new global relationships. To inform this strategy the team reported on and shared insight on communications activity that had performed well throughout the year.
